Thank you for this introduction to a book I was not aware of. I'm not certain if I'll read it or not, but I am, at this point, intrigued as always after reading one of your essays.
Thanks so much! I haven't read Diary of a Nobody -- it's been kicking around on the periphery of my to-read list for years, and you've inspired me to move it up.
I adore your writing, Ben. It’s like an adorable, well behaved puppy but without the barking and sharp little teeth. It’s always a pleasure to read your essays. And you, still moving slowly and carefully or are you eating avocados without any pain? Hope you’re well now.
Thank you! And i'm doing much better. The injection was really what vaulted me out of the pit of suffering, and now various physical therapies -- including one called Feldenkrais that I've become quite obsessed with -- have been helping to rearrange me such that it won't (fingers crossed) become chronic.
I’m so happy to hear that you’re on the mend. Bizarrely, the injections seem to provide a 3 year window of relief. Marc had 2 in 6 years but thanks to becoming an obsessive yogi, he’s well into his fourth year without a jab. OMmmmmG!

Hello, I think I discovered you through a NYTimes article (?) back when and am using One Sentence as my book list.
Problem is... can the books ever live up to your wonderful essays?
A Way of Life, Like Any Other reminds me of Diary of a Nobody (1892). Banality was never so hilarious. Maybe you've read it.
